πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° Pakistan: MDCAT "Aggregate Master" (PMC/PMDC)

Compute the binding 10 : 40 : 50 PMDC merit aggregate (Matric : HSSC/FSc : MDCAT) used by every public medical and dental college in Pakistan.

PMDC sets the MDCAT passing threshold per programme: 55% (110/200) for MBBS and 50% (100/200) for BDS.

Typical Pakistani Matric total is 1100. Use the total printed on your DMC.

PMDC requires at least 60% in FSc Pre-Medical (or equivalent) to be eligible.

National MDCAT is a 200-MCQ test (Biology 68, Chemistry 54, Physics 54, English 18, Logical Reasoning 6) with +1 / 0 marking.

How the PMDC 10 : 40 : 50 Aggregate Works

The binding formula. Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) fixes a single national merit formula for every MBBS and BDS seat in the country: Aggregate % = (Matric % Γ— 0.10) + (FSc/HSSC % Γ— 0.40) + (MDCAT % Γ— 0.50). The three component percentages are computed separately on their own totals, then weighted; you cannot average raw marks across the three exams because the totals differ (Matric typically 1100, FSc 1100, MDCAT 200).

Triple-gate eligibility lock. A high aggregate is not enough on its own. PMDC enforces three independent floors that all must clear: (a) at least 60% in FSc Pre-Medical, (b) the MDCAT programme threshold β€” 55% (110/200) for MBBS, 50% (100/200) for BDS, and (c) the merit cut-off of the target college. This calculator surfaces a failed gate even when the headline aggregate looks competitive, so guess-heavy MDCAT scores do not produce false positives.

Merit reference bands. Public sector government medical and dental seats typically close around 88% aggregate and above, while private colleges often accept candidates from roughly 65% upwards depending on year and province. Treat these as indicative β€” final merit lists are published by each provincial admitting body (UHS Punjab, DUHS Sindh, KMU KPK, BMC Balochistan, SZABMU Federal).

The regulatory trap. Many informal calculators silently average the three raw scores (e.g. treat MDCAT 165/200 the same as FSc 825/1100). That destroys the 50% MDCAT weighting and inflates weak test-takers. This tool always normalises each input to its own total before applying 0.10/0.40/0.50, exactly as PMDC defines.

Primary sources. Refer to the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) for the binding admission regulations, and University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHS) β€” the body that conducts the National MDCAT β€” for the current syllabus, marking scheme and merit policy.
