Two Different Ways to Change Course
KUCCPS gives you two distinct windows to change what you study. Revision of Choices happens before final placement results, while transfers happen after you have already been placed and joined an institution. Mixing these up costs you time, so know which one applies to your situation.
Revision of Choices, Before Final Results
After KUCCPS releases initial placement, it opens a Revision of Choices window for candidates who want a different course or institution, or who were not placed at all in the first round. For the 2025/2026 cycle, this window closed on 22 May 2026, according to KUCCPS and reporting by The Star .
To revise your choices, log in to the KUCCPS student portal, open the revision section, and select new courses. Your options are limited to institutions and programmes with vacancies open at that point in the cycle, so what you see depends on when you revise. Submit before the deadline, since KUCCPS does not accept late revisions.
Why Timing Matters
Vacancies during the Revision of Choices window shrink as other unplaced candidates submit their own revised choices. A course with several open slots at the start of the window fills up before it closes, so revise as soon as you decide rather than waiting until the deadline. After Final Placement: Transfers
Once KUCCPS confirms your final placement, that allocation is binding. You still have two further routes to change course, both of which run through the institutions rather than KUCCPS directly.
Inter-institution transfer: moving to a different university or college, usually processed around August, depending on the receiving institution having space and agreeing to accept you.
Internal transfer: changing programme inside the university you already joined, handled entirely by that university's own academic regulations and approval process.
