The Duolingo English Test (DET) is a modern language proficiency assessment for international students and institutions. The exam is fully digital, on-demand, and adaptive.
The DET takes about 1 hour total. It measures English abilities across 4 integrated subscores (Literacy, Comprehension, Conversation, and Production), each reported on a 10 to 160 scale alongside an overall score in the same range.
