Where to check your NSFAS status
Log in to your myNSFAS profile at my.nsfas.org.za and open the Track Funding Progress section. This shows your application's current stage and any outstanding requirements, and it is the primary place NSFAS communicates decisions.
What each status typically means

How to fix an outstanding documents status
- Log in to myNSFAS and open your application.
- Find the list of outstanding requirements, which names the specific document NSFAS needs.
- Upload a clear copy of the exact document your portal lists. NSFAS no longer requires certified copies, so a photocopy or scan is accepted unless your specific outstanding-requirements notice says otherwise.
- Confirm the upload succeeded before logging out, and note any confirmation reference shown.
If your status has not changed for a long time
- Check your spam or junk email folder for a request from NSFAS you may have missed.
- Confirm your cellphone number and email on myNSFAS are current, since outdated contact details block notifications.
- Contact your institution's financial aid office, since they can see application data NSFAS shares with universities and TVET colleges.

After you are approved
Approval is not the final step.
