Which Platform Handles Orientation
Cote d'Ivoire's Ministere de l'Enseignement Superieur et de la Recherche Scientifique (MESRS) runs the national orientation process for new baccalaureat holders through its online platform, reachable at bac.mesrs-ci.net and orientationsup.net. Every Ivorian bachelier seeking a place in a public university, a technical institute or an eligible private school pre-registers here first, regardless of which type of institution they end up attending.
How Pre-Registration Works
Pre-registration runs in three steps, according to guidance published for the 2025 cycle .
Pay the pre-registration fee online through Tresor Money, using your BAC registration number as reference.
Log into the platform with your BAC number, payment reference, phone number and exam jury details, then select institutions and programmes that match your BAC series and age.
Print your orientation request form as proof of pre-registration.
For the 2025 cohort, pre-registration ran from 16 July to 15 August 2025. Check the current cycle's dates on the platform each year, since the ministry resets the calendar annually.
Tools to Help You Choose
The platform gives you six ways to search for a programme: by institution location, by field of study, by BAC series, by whether the institution is public or private, and through an orientation simulator built for public universities. The simulator tests a set of choices against your BAC series and indicates your chances of admission before you submit anything official.
Use the simulator before finalizing your list. It does not guarantee a seat, but it flags choices that are unrealistic for your profile so you adjust before the deadline.
Requesting a Reorientation
If your initial placement does not work out, or you want to switch after starting, Cote d'Ivoire runs a separate reorientation window on the same portal, orientationsup.net. According to the ministry's 2025 announcement , reorientation operates entirely online and free of charge. It covers moves within the same category only: from one public university to another public university in the same field, from one private institution to another in the same cycle, or into the Universite Virtuelle de Cote d'Ivoire (UVCI).
For the 2025 cycle, the reorientation window ran from 9 to 14 September, with results published on 17 September 2025. Expect similar timing each year, a few weeks after initial placement results, but confirm exact dates through the ministry's announcements for your cycle.
