MCAT: free AAMC and Khan Academy resources
AAMC's free planning and study resources page is the starting point. It includes a free 230-question practice exam scored the same way as the real test, plus a separate unscored 230-question sample test for extra practice under timed conditions.
The page also links to the Khan Academy MCAT video collection , made with AAMC content, which has 1,100 videos and 3,000 review questions covering all four exam sections. AAMC's content outline course adds 120 free practice questions pulled from a retired Official Guide.
If cost is a barrier beyond free practice, AAMC's Fee Assistance Program reduces your MCAT and AMCAS application fees, gives free access to the MSAR database, and includes complimentary MCAT Official Prep products. Eligibility runs on household income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level, with a US home address required.
LSAT: free PrepTests through LawHub
LSAC's official prep hub points test takers to LawHub , which offers free Official LSAT PrepTests built from real retired exams. Practicing inside LawHub also familiarizes you with the actual test interface before your real exam date, which matters since the LSAT runs on a digital platform.
GMAT Focus Edition: the free Starter Kit
GMAC's free Official Starter Kit includes 70 sample GMAT questions with guided review, plus 2 full-length practice exams that mirror the real test format and scoring. GMAC also offers a free Mini Quiz to gauge your starting point and a downloadable 6-week study planner, both useful before you decide whether to buy additional paid practice sets.
GRE: fee reduction plus free official materials
ETS runs a GRE Fee Reduction Program that drops the test fee to 100 dollars, roughly 60% below the standard rate, and throws in 100 dollars worth of free GRE prep materials for voucher holders. Eligibility covers US college seniors or recent graduates with a FAFSA Student Aid Index of zero or less, unemployed US citizens or resident aliens receiving unemployment compensation, active Peace Corps volunteers, and members of groups such as QuestBridge, NSBE, SACNAS, and TRIO programs.
Outside the fee reduction program, ETS gives every GRE registrant free sample questions across all 3 sections, a 100-page math review guide, and a free 2-hour virtual prep session run by the people who build the test.
Library and nonprofit routes
Public libraries often carry official test prep books for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT through their catalog or through digital lending platforms, which cuts the cost of print materials to zero if you plan your borrowing around your study calendar. Community organizations tied to the fee assistance programs above, including TRIO and QuestBridge, sometimes bundle test prep guidance with their fee waivers, so check with your program advisor if you already qualify for one of them.
