What a Design Track Needs

When you interview for a full-time role after graduation, having shipped a feature that's live in a released game on your resume outweighs a longer list of unfinished personal projects almost every time.

Choosing Between Tracks
If you like solving logic puzzles and want the widest job market and highest pay ceiling, lean toward programming. If you like building game feel, balance, and player experience, and don't mind a smaller and more competitive job market, choose design. If you want to build the visuals players see and touch, and enjoy working inside real-time engine constraints, choose art. Whichever track you pick, start building a portfolio in your first year, not your last semester.
