Indonesia's Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Kemdiktisaintek (kemdiktisaintek.go.id ), regulates which institutional partnerships are allowed to award recognized dual degrees. A dual degree is only valid if the specific partnership between the Indonesian university and the named overseas university has ministry approval for that exact program. A university offering a general international class does not automatically mean every partner listed on its website has an approved dual degree agreement in force.

Ask the admissions office for the decree number or official approval reference for the dual degree partnership you are applying to, and confirm it covers your intake year. Partnerships lapse, get renewed under different terms, or get replaced with a different overseas partner, so a program description from two or three years ago may not match what is currently approved.

Where these programs run

Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) run some of the longest-standing international class and dual degree tracks in the country, spanning engineering, business, and computer science faculties, with partner universities across Europe, Australia, and East Asia. Other public universities including Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Airlangga, and private universities such as Binus and Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, also run international class tracks with named overseas partners.

Program availability, partner university names, and which faculties offer dual degree versus single degree international classes change from year to year. Check the current admission page of the specific university and faculty you are targeting rather than relying on older program lists, since partnerships and intake availability shift between academic years.

Cost differences from the regular class

International class tuition, called uang kuliah tunggal kelas internasional or a separate international class fee schedule depending on the university, is set higher than the regular Indonesian-track class at the same university. The gap reflects the added cost of English-medium teaching, joint curriculum coordination with the overseas partner, and in dual degree tracks, the tuition owed to the partner university for the semesters spent abroad.

Because tuition schedules are published and revised by each university for each intake year, get the current year's fee schedule directly from the university's official admission page rather than a third-party estimate, and ask specifically whether the published figure covers only the Indonesia-based years or the full dual degree cost including the partner campus tuition.

Admission requirements beyond the standard track
