KIP Kuliah covers tuition and a monthly living allowance for eligible Indonesian students admitted through SNBP, SNBT or Mandiri at a participating campus, with tuition support up to Rp12 million per semester and living costs of Rp800,000 to Rp1.4 million per month.
🎓 You must be an SMA/SMK/MA graduate from a recent class year and pass admission at a KIP Kuliah participating campus.
💵 Tuition subsidy caps follow your program's accreditation: up to Rp12,000,000 for medicine/health-science A-accredited programs, Rp8,000,000 for other A-accredited programs, Rp4,000,000 for B, Rp2,400,000 for C, per semester.
📩 Register online with your NIK, NISN, NPSN and an active email, alongside your SNBP, SNBT or Mandiri application.
⏱️ Funds pay out each semester directly, and living cost support varies by region and government budget decision.
Who Qualifies for KIP Kuliah
KIP Kuliah (Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah) supports Indonesian students from low income or economically vulnerable families who show academic potential but could not otherwise afford public university. Eligible applicants are SMA, SMK or MA graduates from the current class year or the two years before it, so for the 2026 intake this covers 2024, 2025 and 2026 graduates according to 2026 program guidance .
You need to pass admission through SNBP, SNBT or Mandiri at a campus that participates in the KIP Kuliah program, come from a family classified as poor or economically vulnerable, and never have received KIP Kuliah before. You also cannot hold another government or regional tuition scholarship at the same time, and you must enroll as a full time student, not part time.
How to Apply
Registration runs online, separate from your SNBP, SNBT or Mandiri application, though you complete both in the same cycle. You register using your NIK (national ID number), NISN (student ID number), NPSN (school ID number) and an active email address on the official KIP Kuliah portal .
After the system validates your identity and family data, you link your KIP Kuliah application to your chosen SNBP, SNBT or Mandiri pathway. If you pass admission at a participating campus, the campus verifies your economic data before your KIP Kuliah status becomes final, so keep your supporting documents (family card, income statements, any existing social assistance card) ready for this step.
What KIP Kuliah Covers
Tuition support pays your campus directly each semester, capped by your program's national accreditation grade, based on 2026 program figures . Medicine and health-science programs get a higher A-accreditation cap than other fields.
| Program accreditation | Maximum tuition support per semester |
|---|---|
| A, medicine/health sciences | Rp12,000,000 |
| A, other programs | Rp8,000,000 |
| B | Rp4,000,000 |
| C | Rp2,400,000 |
On top of tuition, you receive a monthly living cost allowance, set between Rp800,000 and Rp1,400,000 depending on your campus location and that year's government budget decision. This portion pays out to you directly rather than to the campus.
How Funds Reach You Each Semester
Once your KIP Kuliah status is confirmed, the tuition portion transfers to your campus each semester so you never handle that money directly, and your UKT bill shows as covered. The living cost allowance pays into an account set up in your name, released in installments across the semester rather than as one lump sum. Your campus's financial aid or kemahasiswaan office manages the disbursement schedule and re-verifies your continued eligibility each semester, so respond promptly to any data confirmation request to avoid a delay in your payout.
Before You Apply
Confirm your target campus and program participate in KIP Kuliah before you commit to a specific SNBP, SNBT or Mandiri choice, since not every campus or program opts in. If your program's accreditation drops after you enroll, the cap that applies follows the accreditation status recorded at the point you become a recipient, so ask your campus's KIP Kuliah coordinator directly if this changes anything for your specific case. Keep your family's economic documents current every semester since campuses re-check eligibility, not just at first enrollment.
