What CAMPUSEN Does

CAMPUSEN is Senegal's national digital platform for orientation of new baccalaureat holders into public higher education. The Ministere de l'Enseignement Superieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation (MESRI) runs the platform through its Direction Generale de l'Enseignement Superieur. It matches bacheliers to seats in public universities and Instituts Superieurs d'Enseignement Professionnel (ISEP) based on the preferences they submit and the grades they earned.

The platform sits at orientation.campusen.sn. You need your baccalaureat results to register, and the process runs on a strict calendar the ministry sets each year.

How to Register and Rank Your Choices

Start by creating a personal account with your baccalaureat details. This generates your Identifiant National de l'Etudiant (INE), the number that follows you through Senegalese public higher education. You need the INE before entering any preferences.

Once your account is active, build two separate preference lists. According to ministry guidance for the 2025 cycle , you rank up to 18 preferences for public universities, spread across all 8 public universities, and separately rank up to 18 preferences for ISEP, with a maximum of 3 choices per individual institute.

Order matters. CAMPUSEN reads your list from top to bottom and places you into the highest-ranked programme where you qualify and a seat is open. Put your genuine first choice at the top of the list, not the option you assume is easiest to get into.

Once you submit and validate your list, CAMPUSEN locks it. No modification and no exception request gets accepted after validation, so check every preference before you confirm.

The Registration Calendar

Dates shift each year, so check the current cycle on the platform itself. As an example, pre-registration for the 2025 cohort opened on 28 July 2025 and closed on 11 August 2025 at 11:59pm. The ministry had opened the CAMPUSEN platform back in May 2025, ahead of the baccalaureat exam period, to prepare bacheliers for the orientation phase before results came out.

Which Institutions Sit on CAMPUSEN

Senegal's public university network includes long-established schools such as Universite Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD) and Universite Gaston Berger de Saint-Louis, alongside newer regional universities in cities like Thies, Bambey, Ziguinchor and Sine Saloum. ISEP campuses run short professional and technical tracks in fields like industrial maintenance, agribusiness and digital trades, sitting outside the traditional university degree structure.

Your 18 university preferences span all 8 public universities, so mix a programme at a competitive campus like UCAD with the same or a similar programme at a regional university, where the entry threshold often sits lower.

If CAMPUSEN Does Not Place You

Not every bachelier gets a public university or ISEP seat through CAMPUSEN. Programmes with fixed capacity fill up, and demand outstrips supply in fields like health sciences and business.

If CAMPUSEN does not place you, contact institutions that run separate admission procedures directly, such as entrance exams or interviews, rather than waiting on the CAMPUSEN portal. Grandes ecoles and specialized schools recruit outside the CAMPUSEN pipeline entirely.

Keep Your Account Secure

The ministry warns bacheliers against sharing their CAMPUSEN login or personal orientation details with third parties. Doing so risks disqualification from placement in a public institution, since scams involving people who offer to "guarantee" a preferred placement in exchange for account access or payment circulate around each cycle.

Practical Tips

• Register your account as soon as CAMPUSEN opens. Delays near the deadline risk technical problems on the site.

• Rank programmes by genuine preference, not by guessed difficulty, and include a realistic spread across selective and less competitive options.

• Save or print your submission confirmation once you validate your choices.

• Watch DGES and MESRI announcements for the exact dates of each new cycle, since they change from year to year.
