TCAS Application Fees by Round: What Each Round Costs
By Muntasir Minhaz • Published Aug 07, 2026 • Money & Budgeting, Study in Southeast Asia
TCAS fees run per program in Portfolio, Quota and Direct Admission (roughly 200 to 1,500 baht each), and per full application in Round 3 Admission (up to 900 baht for all 10 ranked choices combined).
Applying to more programs raises your total cost fast, so budget before you list every faculty that interests you.
💵 Portfolio: about 200-1,500 baht per program
💵 Quota: about 200-1,500 baht per program
💵 Admission: up to 900 baht total for up to 10 ranked choices
💵 Direct Admission: about 200-1,500 baht per program

Why TCAS Fees Are Not One Flat Price
TCAS does not charge one national application fee.
Portfolio, Quota and Direct Admission each charge per program, set individually by the university running that program, while the Admission round charges one combined fee covering your full set of ranked choices. Understanding the difference matters for budgeting, since applying to several Portfolio programs costs far more than applying to several choices inside a single Admission application.
Fees by Round
| Round | Typical fee | How it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio | 200-1,500 baht | Per program applied to |
| Quota | 200-1,500 baht | Per program applied to |
| Admission | Up to 900 baht | One combined fee for up to 10 ranked choices |
| Direct Admission | 200-1,500 baht | Per program applied to |
These ranges come from TCASter's fee breakdown . The Admission round fee depends partly on government support for that specific cycle, so it can move between cycles more than the per-program fees in the other three rounds. Confirm the exact figure for your intake year on mytcas.com before you register, since rates get revised and this guide's figures are a planning reference, not a locked-in price.
How the Cost Adds Up Across Rounds
Portfolio and Quota fees scale directly with how many programs you apply to, so five Portfolio applications at the upper end of the range costs several times more than one. Families budgeting for TCAS should decide how many well-matched Portfolio and Quota programs are worth the fee before listing every faculty that sounds interesting.
Admission works differently: the 900 baht fee covers your entire set of up to 10 ranked choices in one payment, so it is the cheapest way to apply broadly if you have a clear score profile going into Round 3. Applicants who skip Portfolio and Quota entirely and go straight to Admission spend less on application fees overall, at the cost of losing the earlier rounds' chances.
Budgeting Beyond the Application Fee
Portfolio and Quota interviews sometimes require travel to campus, which costs more than the application fee itself for families outside the university's city
Document costs (transcripts, certified copies, translations for some faculties) add up separately from the TCAS application fee
TGAT, TPAT and A-Level exam registration each carry their own fee, separate from the round application fees in this table
Some universities waive or reduce Quota fees for students who meet financial-need criteria, listed on that university's own admission page rather than on mytcas.com
Check each target faculty's own admission announcement for its exact fee before you register, since the ranges here reflect typical rates across universities rather than one fixed national price.
