TCU separates institutional registration from program accreditation. An institution first gets registered as a university, then each degree program it wants to run needs its own accreditation before it legally admits students. A registered university sometimes has programs pending accreditation, particularly new courses it has recently introduced.
How to check a university's TCU status
Get the exact legal name of the university, since some unauthorized operators use names that closely resemble accredited universities.
Visit the official TCU register of universities in Tanzania and search for the name.
Note whether the entry shows full or provisional registration, since provisional status carries more restrictions on which programs enroll students.
