🇲🇽 Mexico: UNAM "Aciertos" & Faculty Predictor
Estimate your chances in the UNAM Concurso de Selección by comparing your projected aciertos on the 120-question exam to the historical minimum cut-off (puntaje mínimo de ingreso) of each carrera and plantel.
Your Aciertos
How It Works
1. The 120-Question Exam Structure
The UNAM Concurso de Selección is a single-day, 120-question multiple-choice exam. Sixty questions cover the common core (Español, Matemáticas, plus elements of general knowledge); the remaining sixty are split into three twenty-question blocks specific to your chosen Área (1 Físico-Matemáticas, 2 Biológicas y de la Salud, 3 Sociales, 4 Humanidades y Artes). Wrong answers and blanks score zero — only aciertos count.
2. The "Minimum Aciertos" Trap
A common mistake is treating the 90/120 "Pase Reglamentado" (automatic-acceptance bar) as the entry minimum. It is not. Each carrera at each plantel publishes its own puntaje mínimo de ingreso, often well above 90 for high-demand programmes (Medicina FM, Médico Cirujano, Odontología, Psicología CU). Scoring 95 aciertos may be elite for Filosofía in FES Acatlán yet insufficient for Medicina in Ciudad Universitaria. The calculator binds your aciertos against the carrera-specific cut-off, not a blanket pass mark.
3. Pase Reglamentado vs. Concurso
Bachillerato UNAM (ENP and CCH) students with a general average of 9.0 or higher access the Pase Reglamentado route and enter without taking the exam, subject to the carrera demand cap. Everyone else competes in the Concurso de Selección, where places are filled in strict descending order of aciertos until the carrera's quota is exhausted — so the published "minimum" is in reality the score of the last admitted applicant, not a fixed pass mark.
4. Area-Carrera Locking
You cannot take an Área 1 exam and apply to Medicina (Área 2). The area is dictated by your carrera selection. Switching areas mid-cycle requires withdrawing and re-registering. This calculator constrains the carrera list to the area you select to prevent invalid pairings, and resets your carrera selection when the area changes.
