How It Works

1. Two São Paulo Vestibulares, Two Scales

FUVEST (the foundation that runs the Universidade de São Paulo entrance exam) and the COMVEST UNICAMP vestibular are the two elite, independent state-tier entry routes in São Paulo. FUVEST Phase 1 is a 90-question single-day multiple-choice exam scored out of 90; UNICAMP Phase 1 is a 72-question single-day multiple-choice exam scored out of 72. Their cut-offs cannot be compared directly — a "65" means different things on each scale.

2. The "Nota de Corte" Trap

The nota de corte is not a fixed pass mark. It is the score of the last candidate called for Phase 2 on each carreira's quota list — recalculated every ciclo. A 65/90 may clear FMUSP Medicina one year and miss it the next if applicant pressure rises. The calculator binds your acertos against the most recent published cut-off per carreira and track, never against a blanket threshold.

3. Ampla Concorrência vs. Escola Pública / PPI

Both vestibulares maintain parallel quotas — ampla concorrência (general) and reserved lists for public-school (escola pública) and PPI (Pretos, Pardos e Indígenas) candidates. Reserved-list cut-offs are usually 5–15 points lower than ampla concorrência because the candidate pool is smaller, but the gap shrinks for hyper-competitive carreiras such as Medicina FMUSP. Switching tracks mid-cycle is not permitted; you compete on the track declared at enrolment.

4. Phase 1 Is Only a Gate — Phase 2 Decides Admission

Clearing the Phase 1 cut-off only advances you to Phase 2 (the discursive / redação rounds — 4 days for FUVEST, 3 days for UNICAMP). Final classification weights Phase 2 most heavily (and, for UNICAMP, optionally an ENEM bonus). This tool predicts the Phase 1 gate only — a small margin above the cut-off is not a guarantee of final admission, especially for high-demand cursos.
