🇨🇴 Colombia: Simulador de Ponderados Multi-Universidad

Compare a single ICFES Saber 11 result against the distinct subject-weighting (ponderación) formulas published by Colombia's top public universities — UNAL, UdeA, UIS, Univalle and UPTC — to see which programmes you actually clear.

Each Colombian public university publishes its own ponderación per programme. Pick the exact programme you intend to apply to — the weights and cut-off shift below.

Use the area-by-area scores from the ICFES Saber 11 results sheet, not the 0–500 puntaje global. Each area is reported on a 0–100 scale.

Every Colombian public university transforms ICFES scores into a different ponderado scale. Some normalise out of 1000, others out of 100 — never compare raw weighted numbers across institutions.

How It Works

1. The ICFES Saber 11 Inputs

ICFES reports five area scores on a 0–100 scale (Lectura Crítica, Matemáticas, Sociales y Ciudadanas, Ciencias Naturales, Inglés) plus a 0–500 puntaje global. Public universities do not use the puntaje global for admission. They apply their own weighting formula to the five area scores, which is why an identical ICFES result can clear UdeA Medicina but fail UNAL Ingeniería.

2. The Scale Trap

UNAL normalises its weighted total onto a 0–1000 scale (multiplied by 10). UdeA, UIS, Univalle and UPTC keep their result on the original 0–100 scale. A "650" at UNAL and a "65" at UdeA represent the same relative position — comparing raw numbers across universities is the most common mistake. This simulator displays each programme's cut-off in its native scale to prevent that error.

3. Programme-Specific Weights

Within a single university the weights shift dramatically by programme. UNAL Ingeniería weights Matemáticas at 30% and Lectura Crítica at 25%; UNAL Medicina weights Ciencias Naturales at 35% and Matemáticas at 15%. A student who is excellent at maths but average in sciences can be a UNAL Ingeniería candidate yet uncompetitive for UNAL Medicina with the same ICFES result.

4. Cut-off Volatility

Cut-offs (puntajes de corte) are published after each admission cycle and reflect the lowest admitted applicant in each programme. They drift several points year-to-year with demand. The values used here are representative historical reference points — confirm the most recent year's corte through the university's official Admisiones portal before committing to a programme.

Authoritative References

Subject weights and reference cut-offs displayed are derived from each university's official Acuerdo de admisiones and BoletĂn estadĂstico. Always re-verify against the latest convocatoria before applying.
