Diploma in Applications Development – Politeknik Brunei

Politeknik Brunei's Diploma in Applications Development is built to cover the full pipeline of building software, not just programming in isolation: students work through database management systems, systems analysis and design, project management and user experience design alongside programming skills across both desktop and mobile platforms. Core modules in mathematics and the school's standard civic and religious subjects run alongside that technical curriculum. A six-month final year project and a separate industry internship are both built into the course, giving students one extended piece of independent technical work and one period of real workplace exposure before graduation, alongside an explicit expectation that graduates can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. The career list the diploma points toward is wide: software engineer, project manager and database administrator sit alongside more specialised titles such as mobile app developer, UX/UI designer, systems analyst, web developer, IT consultant and applications developer, with progression supported into a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering, a master's in IT, or professional certifications.
