Overview

The Licence Sciences du langage covers the study of languages and their use, including their structure, diversity, acquisition, the relation between speech and writing, and language in society. The programme has a fundamental linguistics core covering French linguistics, the linguistics of world languages, semiotics and pragmatics, with concrete analysis of communication situations that combine speech, text, image and gesture. Three themes structure the course: French linguistics, world-language linguistics, and a partnership with two CNRS joint research units. Two parcours are offered: Europe, and Languages, Language, Learning and Disability.
