Overview
The Master in Research Methods combines taught methodology with a substantial research project that students design, carry out and defend at Master's level. The programme develops advanced research skills and a disciplined methodological approach, guiding learners toward producing work of a standard suitable for peer-reviewed publication, while preparing them for further research or doctoral study later on.
Delivery is part-time, typically spread over around three years, and fees are arranged through MCAST's Gateway to Industry. Entry usually requires a recognised Level 6 qualification of 180 credits with a documented degree result, or, under the Maturity Clause, a Level 5 qualification of 120 credits plus three years of relevant full-time experience for applicants aged 27 and over, who then sit a combined suitability interview.
