Overview

The Medicine programme is a six-year bachelor's degree taught in Turkish at the Faculty of Medicine, established in 2021. Phases I to III cover basic medical and clinical sciences, largely through theoretical courses and laboratory practice. Clinical practice runs in phases IV and V, with clinical rotations treated as courses, and phase VI is an internship year focused on applied clinical training. The programme aims to train competent physicians and scientists who deliver quality healthcare on a universal standard. Students may spend part of phases IV and V in other domestic or foreign faculties under exchange programmes, within a limit of one third of the training period.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Central ÖSYM placement through YKS, SAY score type, 60 places, lowest placement score 498.4 (success rank 20,844). Applicants must meet a minimum rank condition of 50,000 in the SAY score type. Instruction is in Turkish.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
