Overview

The Computer Science transfer pathway lets students complete the opening half of a bachelor's degree close to home. Students learn to write and debug programs in Java, Python and C++, and to use algorithms and data structures for practical tasks. Courses also introduce computer architecture, operating systems, version control and agile team practices. Class sizes are small, and faculty guide students through the harder concepts so they arrive at a four-year school ready for upper-level work. The credential totals 60 credits and is offered at Coon Rapids. Students can work with academic advising to plan their courses, and the college points to financial aid and scholarships as ways to lower costs. It also reports that students save roughly 65 percent per credit on average compared with regional public and private universities. Prospective students may request information or apply online, and the admissions and advising offices answer questions by email or phone.
