BA/BS in Biology, General

The Biology major at Freed-Hardeman University is a demanding path for students drawn to the sciences. Students first complete the liberal arts core, then a common set of biology courses beginning with general biology. Each student then picks an emphasis. The general biology option suits those heading toward teacher licensure or physical or occupational therapy school, while the professional option is recommended for students aiming at medical school. Chemistry courses with labs round out the requirements. Related areas listed alongside the major include fish and wildlife management and marine biology. The program belongs to Freed-Hardeman University, a Christian institution that expresses its mission through teaching and campus life. Prospective students can request more information, look into financial aid options and begin an application through the university website. The program page also lists course descriptions and faculty profiles, which helps applicants compare the offering with their own goals before they decide to enroll.
