AA/AS in Computer Programming

Software development is the focus of this associate degree. Core courses assign both solo and group projects that yield desktop, enterprise, and mobile applications, along with databases and websites. Students meet several platforms, namely IBMi, Windows, and open-source systems, and they compare object-oriented methods with procedural ones. Optional certificates in game programming, programmer/analyst work, and Apple app development let learners add a specialty. Courses are delivered in person and online, and labs are fitted with current hardware and software. Outside class, students can join dig.IT, Red Hawks Esports, or the WMCPA student chapter, and they can meet professionals at a regional midrange computing conference. The 63-credit program is offered through the Racine Campus and online, with a fall start. Graduates look toward roles as developers, programmers, and programmer/analysts.
