The Bachelor of Science in Biology suits students aiming at careers in the life sciences or in many healthcare professions. It begins with foundational lecture and laboratory study in cell biology, genetics, and ecology, then lets students follow their own interests through electives offered each term. The major also requires supporting study in math, chemistry, and physics, which give a strong grounding in fundamental biology. Electives must include upper-level work and at least two courses with a laboratory component. Majors have many opportunities for undergraduate research on campus. A biology minor is also available.
