BA/BS in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology

The biochemistry major is an interdepartmental Bachelor of Science drawing on the biology and chemistry departments. It prepares students for research careers, graduate study in the biochemical or molecular sciences, or professional schools in medicine and dentistry. Students can use specialized facilities including tissue culture, isotope laboratories and instruments such as NMR spectrometers, a flow cytometer and a confocal microscope, and are encouraged to join faculty research. Program honors may be awarded to high-achieving graduating seniors. Oakland University is located in Rochester, Michigan. Prospective students can review current course requirements, request more information or begin an application through the program's official page. Because costs, start terms and requirements can change from year to year, applicants should confirm the latest details with the department before they apply.
