AA/AS in Accounting and Related Services

Accounting at Shasta College prepares students to become trusted professionals who contribute to business decisions. The program offers an associate degree and a series of certificates. The certificates progress from foundational skills toward greater depth. One aligns with industry demand and the IMA's FMAA certification, another widens understanding of accounting within the wider business setting, and a third builds on the first with extra depth in systems, software tools, and specialized procedures. Graduates are ready for entry-level accounting and bookkeeping roles. Accounting is part of the Business area of study alongside business technology and hospitality. Program maps show the recommended courses for every award, and students should meet with a counselor to build an official education plan. Coursework suits students who like numbers, accuracy, and careful organization.
