Cert in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management

Students in the Computer Information Systems program at South Georgia Technical College prepare to work as computer support specialists. The curriculum teaches how information is processed on computers, then applies those ideas to hands-on technical subjects such as program design and development, networking, and the vocabulary of computing. Because this is a diploma, it also includes general education study. Graduates are also expected to show ability in the arts and humanities, the social sciences, and the natural sciences or math, alongside their technical training. That mix is meant to prepare them for support jobs where clear communication matters as much as technical skill. The program runs on the Americus and Cordele campuses, and students may enter at the start of any semester. Applicants need a secondary school credential and either a suitable placement score or acceptable SAT or ACT results.
