AA/AS in Architectural Sciences and Technology

This applied associate degree prepares students for entry-level work in architecture, engineering and construction. Its regional focus is the high desert and alpine landscapes of the American West. Students practice design thinking, three-dimensional modeling, basic drafting and sustainable design, while considering the cultural and geographic forces that shape building in this region. Studio projects deal with difficult conditions including thin mountain air, limited water and wildfire danger. Graduates can take non-licensed technician roles in design firms. Others can continue toward a five-year Bachelor of Architecture, which is the route to registration as an architect in Nevada.
