BA/BS in Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering covers how computing systems are designed and used, from hardware foundations up to the software layers on top. Students gain a view of an entire computer system, which suits anyone who enjoys building and working with machines. The Grainger College of Engineering offers this major as a direct route into the field. First-year criteria look for strong math and science coursework, with calculus preferred and physics expected where a high school offers them. Typical career directions include processor and GPU design, hardware work, programming, research and software architecture. Employers of recent graduates range from large technology firms to finance companies, and many alumni continue into graduate programs. The program page also lists review criteria and degree requirements.
