Working professionals whose jobs cross many areas of business and society can deepen their technical abilities through this graduate degree. Students take a set of mandatory advanced courses and then shape the rest of their plan around a chosen career direction. Every student completes a computer science foundation. Remaining credits come from electives in computer science, mathematics, statistics or other fields, with an advisor signing off on the selections. Advanced subjects on offer include machine learning, cybersecurity, data visualization and game design. The full degree requires thirty credits. A suggested course sequence is available to help students map out their studies, and credit for earlier learning may be considered. Students from other countries receive information about the STEM OPT extension, which can matter for work authorization after graduation.
