Cert in American Sign Language

This undergraduate certificate introduces students to American Sign Language and to the culture and history of Deaf communities, and it gives some students a chance to assist in teaching ASL classes. Five courses totaling sixteen credit hours make up the sequence. It suits people heading toward education, health care, counseling or interpreting-related study, though it is not a licensure pathway and does not certify signing proficiency. This program is housed in the University of Wyoming and taught at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, a city in the Rocky Mountain region of the western United States. The official page links to course lists, cost details and department contacts, and prospective students can ask for information or begin an application through the university's online admissions channels. Small cohorts and direct faculty contact are common across the institution's academic units, which helps newcomers settle in and find mentors early.
