The business major at Wagner pairs a practical business education with a broad liberal arts foundation. It aims to build decision-makers and leaders for both private and public organizations, with attention to critical thinking, problem solving, communication, managerial flexibility and information technology. Graduates work in banking, brokerage, corporate finance, international business, marketing research, advertising, sales and management. The college points to New York City as a rich source of internships, and the department says it requires two to four of them. Course examples include money and financial institutions, entrepreneurship and advertising.
