Monroe University

Monroe University's Saint Lucia campus has operated in Castries since 2007 as a satellite site of the New York-headquartered Monroe University (formerly Monroe College), extending the parent institution's degree programmes to students across the Eastern Caribbean.

The campus sits on the Vide Boutielle Highway outside the capital and offers programmes through Monroe's Schools of Allied Health Professions, Business and Accounting, Criminal and Social Justice, Hospitality Management, and Information Technology, mirroring the curriculum taught at Monroe's United States locations so that credits transfer between campuses. Instruction runs on a three-semester academic calendar rather than the conventional two-semester year, letting students complete degree requirements faster, and evening class scheduling accommodates those balancing study with employment.

The Saint Lucia site has also delivered a Government of Saint Lucia-backed certificate programme in hospitality services covering event planning, front-office operations, food and beverage service, bartending and housekeeping, and the island's Ministry of Education has separately sponsored dozens of partial and full tuition scholarships for citizens admitted here. Students who begin in Castries can transfer to Monroe's main New Rochelle campus to finish their final semesters, gaining exposure to the New York job market while keeping continuity in their degree.

The campus primarily serves Saint Lucian and wider Caribbean students seeking a US-affiliated qualification without relocating for the full length of their studies.
