Overview
Navarro College is a public community college in Texas whose main campus sits on 103 acres west of downtown Corsicana.
Voters in Navarro County approved a junior college in 1946, and classes began that September with a first cohort that was mostly returning World War II veterans. The college dropped "junior" from its name in 1974 as it added occupational programs alongside transfer coursework.
Besides Corsicana, Navarro runs locations in Waxahachie, Midlothian and Mexia, serving Navarro, Ellis, Freestone, Limestone and Leon counties, and it offers online and hybrid classes. Students can study transfer-oriented fields such as English, biology and psychology, or career programs in areas including welding, cosmetology, occupational therapy assistant and physical therapist assistant studies.
The Corsicana campus has student housing, a library, dining facilities and several museums, and the Bulldogs compete in NJCAA athletics and esports.
Navarro is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, which most recently reaffirmed it in 2017.
