SRAM runs the CEGEP application process for the Greater Montreal region. Create your account at admission.sram.qc.ca, rank your program and CEGEP choices, send only the documents your situation requires, and pay attention to round deadlines that close months before your term starts.
🎓 SRAM handles admission for CEGEPs across Montreal and the surrounding region
📩 Quebec-born applicants with a Quebec secondary school record submit no transcripts, SRAM retrieves your file from the ministry directly
📩 Applicants from another Canadian province send official grade 10-12 transcripts and a diploma copy
⏱️ The Winter 2027 round system ran from September 15, 2026 to December 10, 2026, across two rounds
💵 International applicants show about $24,617 CAD in available funds and proof of health insurance for their full program
Who SRAM Covers
SRAM (Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain) processes CEGEP applications for member colleges across the Greater Montreal region. Instead of applying to each CEGEP directly, you submit one application through SRAM and rank the programs and colleges you want. SRAM then matches you to a spot based on your ranking and your academic record.
Step 1: Create Your File
Start your application at admission.sram.qc.ca . You need your permanent code, the identification number Quebec schools assign every student, and basic personal details. SRAM sorts applicants by situation: regular DEC studies straight from high school, continuing education, or late admission after regular rounds close. Pick the category that matches you before you start filling in program choices.
Step 2: Choose and Rank Your Programs
List the CEGEP and program combinations you want in order of preference. SRAM offers programs across the Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) track and continuing education options. Rank your true first choice first. A lower-ranked choice only gets considered if you are not admitted to anything ranked above it, so ranking a backup option costs you nothing.
Step 3: Send the Documents Your Situation Requires
What you owe SRAM depends on where you studied last.
| Your situation | What to submit |
|---|---|
| Quebec secondary school or CEGEP record | Nothing. SRAM retrieves your academic record directly from the Quebec Ministry of Education. |
| Another Canadian province | Official transcripts covering grades 10 to 12, plus a copy of your diploma. |
| Schooling outside Canada | A comparative education evaluation, official transcripts, final exam results, and a copy of your diploma. |
| Non-citizen, non-permanent-resident applicants | Birth certificate, proof of status or permit, a language test result from an SRAM-approved provider, proof of about $24,617 CAD in funds , and health insurance for your full study period. |
Quebec-born applicants with a Quebec academic history do not upload transcripts at all. SRAM already has the record on file through the ministry system . If you studied outside Quebec, budget time to request transcripts early since colleges and boards take weeks to issue them.
Step 4: Track the Round Deadlines
SRAM processes applications in rounds, and each round has a hard deadline. Miss one and your file waits for the next round or moves to late admission, where remaining spots are limited. For the Winter 2027 regular admission cycle, the application system opened September 15, 2026. Round 1 closed November 1, 2026, with results posted November 17. Round 2 closed November 25, 2026, with results posted December 10.
The SRAM schedule page lists dates for both the fall and winter sessions each year, and the same round structure repeats for fall entry earlier in the preceding year. International applicants applying for fall entry follow a separate window, opening March 15 the year before the intake and closing March 14 of the intake year.
Step 5: Pay the Application Fee
SRAM charges fees tied to your file type, including a $50 CAD charge for a comparative education evaluation if you studied outside Canada. Check the fees page for the exact amount that applies to your situation before you submit.
Meeting Program-Specific Requirements
Every program layers two sets of conditions on top of the base Quebec secondary diploma (DES): ministerial conditions the province sets for a program family, and college conditions each CEGEP adds for its own version of that program, as SRAM's own admission conditions page confirms. A nursing or science program might require specific Secondary 4 or 5 courses you have not yet completed, so check the program page on your target CEGEP's own site before you rank it.
If You Are Outside the Montreal Region
SRAM only covers colleges in and around Montreal. Quebec City, Chaudière-Appalaches, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie, Capitale-Nationale, and Côte-Nord CEGEPs run through SRACQ, and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean CEGEPs run through SRASL. Both use a similar file-and-rank system with their own deadlines.
After You Submit
Log back into your file at admission.sram.qc.ca to check your status, respond to offers, and confirm your spot by the stated deadline. If your first choice does not come through in round 1, your application automatically carries into the next round, so you do not need to reapply.
