How ECTS Credits Conversion Works

The General Proportional Method

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) sets a universal workload benchmark where 60 ECTS credits represent one full year of academic study. To convert non-European systems where no direct ratio is established, the proportional formula is applied:

ECTS = 60 × (Local Credits / Annual Local Load)
