How It Works

The No Objection Certificate (NOC) is a mandatory clearance issued by Nepal's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) authorising Nepali citizens to remit tuition and living expenses abroad. Without it, banks cannot legally release foreign currency on behalf of the student.

Core requirement gates:

  • Application fee fixed at NPR 2,000 across all study levels, paid via the MOEST online portal.
  • Minimum bank balance equivalent to first-year tuition + living costs, held in a Nepali bank account.
  • UK applicants additionally face a 28 consecutive day balance maintenance rule under UKVI rules β€” the same balance amount, but held unbroken for the longest qualifying period of any destination.
  • Equivalence letter (from Tribhuvan University / CDC or NEB) is mandatory only when transcripts are from a non-Nepali board.
  • Processing typically completes in 1–5 working days; the 2026 certificate is issued digitally with a QR code.

This tool tallies your document readiness, sums your first-year tuition and living costs into the minimum bank balance you must evidence, and flags missing items before you commit the NPR 2,000 application fee.
