This honours engineering degree sets out to produce qualified mechanical engineers able to meet the needs of engineering organisations and industries operating in Brunei Darussalam. The programme page describes a broad-based curriculum spanning the general areas of the discipline, rather than an early specialisation into a single sub-field: structural design, manufacturing processes, material selection, applied mechanics, and work with thermo-fluids systems.
Graduates are pointed toward work across upstream and downstream energy, aviation, the military, building and manufacturing sectors, with the option to enter the workforce directly or continue into postgraduate study in a chosen area of mechanical engineering. The page frames graduates as leaving with transferable problem-solving and numeracy skills useful well beyond mechanical engineering itself, including in research and development.
