Upcoming Intake: Fall 2026: College Drive – North Bay This 10-month intensive program is intended for graduates of university degree programs in the Humanities or Social Sciences or diploma programs in a related human services field. [Mental Health and Addictions, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Nursing, Gerontology, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Community and Justice Services or others to be determined by the Program Co-ordinator.] Applicants must have completed 40 hours of direct experience with clients in a social agency. Following the eight month in-class portion, students will have a two-month field placement opportunity in a community agency.

Admission Requirements: This accelerated diploma requires a prior credential rather than direct high-school entry: applicants need a university degree, or an Ontario college diploma or advanced diploma, in an approved human-services field (Mental Health and Addictions, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Nursing, Gerontology, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Community and Justice Services, or another field approved by the Program Coordinator). Applicants must also have at least 40 hours of direct client experience in a social service agency, attested by an evaluation form from an agency representative. International applicants need proof of English proficiency; the programme page defers to Canadore's institution-wide scale for Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma programs: Canadore's English proficiency requirement for Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma programs (test taken within two years of application): IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, no band below 5.5; TOEFL iBT 4.0 overall, no section below 4 (tests from 21 Jan 2026 onward); PTE Academic 53, no section below 47; Duolingo English Test 110, no band below 95; CELPIP 7; Cambridge English 169+; Oxford ELLT 6.0; or CEFR B2.
