This diploma trains students to meet growing demand for mechanical engineers in Fiji, at a time when industry increasingly expects technical competence alongside environmental awareness. Learners build a broad grounding across mechanical disciplines before specialising, gaining enough professional depth in mechanical engineering to take on supervisory and management-adjacent duties once qualified. The curriculum also builds organisational discipline and a practical understanding of using resources responsibly, qualities the programme treats as being as important to employers as pure technical skill.
Majoring in Mechanical engineering, the diploma runs on campus at Samabula over three years and carries 360 credit points, moving students from foundation mathematics and engineering graphics through applied mechanics, thermodynamics and manufacturing processes to plant engineering and instrumentation in the later stages.
