Overview
The research-agrégation pathway lets Master history students replace some standard courses with teaching aimed at the agrégation d'histoire competitive exam. The exam itself can only be taken after the Master 2 is obtained, and a dedicated preparation year is available to Master 2 holders through a separate module. Across the two years of the research Master, the pathway introduces students to the exam's subjects alongside normal research training.
Access follows a selection based on licence grades (and/or CPGE results), on the applicant's academic path and on motivation. The pathway runs as M1 and M2 years under the Histoire mention at Bac+5 level.
