The Bachelor's in Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities (STAPS) at the University of Lorraine offers five standard tracks and two professional licences. Students can train at three sites: Épinal for the first year, then Metz and Nancy for the second and third years, which both run from first to third year and allow continuation into a master.
The programme is an interdisciplinary university course combining theory and practice on physical and sports activities. It draws on life sciences, health, human and social sciences, and history. Graduates can work as physical-education teachers, sports coaches, teachers of adapted physical activity, sports project managers or sports ergonomists, or continue to research. A Licence Accès Santé (L.AS) option adds a health minor in the first year and allows entry into the second year of six health studies, including medicine and pharmacy.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry through Parcoursup; 16 places offered in 2026 and 1,195 confirmed applications. The optional L.AS health pathway adds about 100 hours of distance teaching and 10 ECTS.
