At the University of Liechtenstein, the PhD track in Business Economics offers advanced academic training on questions central to the Liechtenstein economy and its financial sector, set within a semi-structured curriculum tied to the university's research focus areas. Candidates choose a research area from Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or Entrepreneurship and Management, and complete 20 ECTS credits of structured work across six semesters, in cohorts of five to ten students, full-time or part-time. All teaching and supervision take place in English.
Graduates qualify for senior academic posts such as professor or research director, and for leadership roles in large companies, consulting firms and international financial institutions. Expertise built in entrepreneurship, management, information systems or international financial services also opens doors in strategic and academic consulting, policy work with international organisations, or corporate research developing new solutions.
