The Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Macau is a two-year postgraduate programme that trains students to examine brain function through areas such as neurolinguistics, neuroeducation, neuroeconomics, neuroimaging and brain-inspired intelligence, and to apply what is learned to practical health and social problems. It develops cognitive neuroscientists and professionals who can integrate findings, perspectives and tools from several disciplines to study mind, brain and behaviour.
The programme suits students who want to study cognitive processes through their neural systems, using either behavioural experiments or computational modelling. The curriculum, shown for students admitted from the 2027/2028 academic year, has compulsory courses including Principles of Neuroscience, two required electives from one group for six credits, three from another group for nine credits, and a project report completed in labs across several faculties.
