Bachelor of Science (Hons) Quantity Surveying

This quantity surveying degree carries accreditation from several professional surveying bodies, both Malaysian and international, which opens a formal pathway toward chartered surveyor status for graduates who pursue it after completing the degree. The curriculum builds core technical knowledge in building construction alongside a set of practical skills including measurement, cost estimation, project management and problem-solving, together with the communication ability needed to convey cost and technical information clearly to clients and project teams. Particular emphasis is placed on critical analytical thinking and on value engineering, the practice of examining a project's design and specification to find ways of delivering the same function at lower cost or higher quality. Taken together, the multiple professional accreditations and the applied skills curriculum are intended to prepare graduates for direct entry into quantity surveying practice with a qualification recognised by more than one professional body.
