Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering) (Ph.D.)

The programme is a full research doctorate focused on advancing engineering research and theoretical knowledge across fields such as petroleum, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering. Its holistic approach builds competency from issue analysis and conceptualisation through to planning a research project and transferring it into industrial or commercial application, with a thesis and publications forming the major requirement. A three-credit-hour Research Methodology course covers tools for research, presentation and publication in national and international scientific channels, and candidates are encouraged to take part in engineering conferences, seminars, talks, a journal club and workshops as presenters or participants.
