International Master Artist Educator (iMAE)

The International Master Artist Educator is a socially engaged programme in artistic research and Issues-based Art Education, developing the skills, capacities and knowledge needed to work toward sustainable social change grounded in mutual respect. Students join a diverse international learning community and work on site during residency placements located in the Netherlands as well as in Northern Ireland, collaborating with artists and cultural workers from communities affected by social or cultural marginalisation. The two-year programme connects students' interests and skills to social issues carrying both local and global weight, using artistic research and practice as tools for social change, and combines theory with practice across the combined fields of socially engaged artistic practice and issues-based approaches to arts education.
