The 120-credit master in education examines how people learn and communicate, how knowledge develops, and what role education plays in society. Students study the relationship between forms of knowledge, theories of learning, education policy and teaching practice, and learn to analyse and critically reflect on educational processes in schools, administration and organisations.
The first two semesters prepare students for the thesis, through lectures, seminars and self-study. The last two semesters are devoted to a self-selected master's project, with the option to join research groups. Graduates can work as advisers, project managers or consultants in the public and private sectors, at universities, in career guidance, and in personnel and training departments. The programme admits students every second year, in odd-numbered years.
