The master's programme builds core knowledge in the fundamentals of macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics and mathematics, paired with optional courses covering growth and development, industry markets and competition, international economics, behavioural economics, money, credit and finance, economic policy, and resources, energy and environment, reflecting the research interests of the teaching staff. Students can take part of the degree abroad through exchange agreements with partner institutions, and choose among programme options covering general economics or a dedicated research track. An elective internship course, taught in Norwegian and offered each spring, allows students to combine coursework with a placement at a participating institution.
