Overview

The MSc in Electrical Engineering is a postgraduate programme of the engineering college of the National University in Oman. Its design is non-progressive and entirely segmental, so students do not have to pass at a given level before they move to the next. Full-time study is made up of three semesters of teaching and a fourth given over to a research seminar and the master's thesis. Students who complete 30 credit hours receive a postgraduate diploma in the subject. Students who instead complete a 9-credit major project plus a 1-credit seminar, 10 credit hours in all, qualify to exit with a Master of Science degree in the subject. The structure lets students stop at the diploma stage or continue towards the master's award.
