— it helps other students.
The first-cycle programme introduces archaeology as a study of the past through excavation and the analysis of material remains. Students take summer field placements after each year of study, including excavations in Poland and abroad. Student research circles run conferences, workshops and lectures with guests from universities in Britain and elsewhere, giving students contact with current trends in world archaeology.
The first-cycle full-time programme is taught in Polish at the Faculty of History. Graduates are prepared to work as archaeologists in research institutes, archaeological and regional museums, conservation services and specialist private firms.
